| Why Rare Plans?
Rare plans first became a reality out of frustration
and then opportunity. My frustrations came from my inability to
quickly find free project resources for woodworking, metal working
and welding. The specific items I am referring to are plans and
tools. The second reason comes from opportunity to build a useful
resource and have it pay for itself.
What do you mean? Frustration then Opportunity??
When it cam to project plans, I simply couldn't find what I wanted
in a reasonable search and it became frustrating. Either I couldn't
find it or it was such poor quality that it wasn't worth the time.
So, I wanted to setup a site that could be used as a project resource
for easily finding plans of all kinds in a quick and efficient manner.
Secondly, There a ton sites selling woodworking, welding, carpentry,
and home improvement tools. But there is no central resource for
finding discount and bargain tools. I have never been able to find
a central resource or forum to quickly find clearance tools. That
is what caused my frustration.
Now for the opportunity. A good friend of mine and premier webmaster
showed me a couple of ways that we could get a site to pay for itself.
The first thing is the Google Adsense boxes you see on the right
side of the pages. These actually pay us a small amount each time
someone clicks on them. These are great sites and retailers that
are targeted to the content that is on our web pages. Also, we have
partnered with a few affiliates to provide the items you need for
your next project. Each time you go through our site to purchase
from these respected sellers we get a small percentage. That is
how we plan to sustain the site.
